Moin Herr Förthmann, anbei die Bilder und ein Video zum Schaden. Meine Fragen:
1) Kann die Anlage weiter betrieben werden, ohne Schaden zu nehmen?
2) Was ist die mögliche Ursache für den Bruch? Gewalteinwirkung hat nicht stattgefunden.
3) Können Sie mir das Ersatzteil schicken, so daß ich den Bolzen wechseln kann.

Meine Atwort wenige später: Moin Herr Beyer, alles kein Beinbruch: offenbar hat sich die untere Inbusschraube. 301 losgearbeitet bzw. wurde lange nicht kontrolliert / festgezogen … sodass am Ende dann das Rohr 400 nach unten gerutscht ist. Einfach wieder an seinen Platz schieben … 301 festsetzen … und weitersegeln!

BENETEAU FIRST CLASS 10 – Que windvane tan bonito
Good evening, Peter. A quick saludo from Portugal. 
Your Windpilot drew a lot of admiring glances in  Barcelona….one woman commented „Que windvane tan bonito“ which I thought was a charming comment. Of greater importance, you will be pleased to know that the „stern ornament“ worked right out of the box!!
I had a bit of bother with the running backstays conflicting with the steering lines, but running backstays seem to conflict with everything. No big deal.
Our first voyage was a long and tiresome affair due to the typical Mediterranean wind holes. The little yacht is now snuggled up in a ruinously expensive marina in Portimao, whilst her skipper is snuggled up in a ruinously expensive apartment…..That’s life.

I read your book…..Interesting and thought provoking. It left me feeling grateful for not having suffered from bullying or ostracism in my younger days…..I was raised in what many would consider to be an uncivilised country……Viva la difference.
Keep up the good work at Windpilot….both of you!!  (That part of your book warmed my hear)

Hi Peter, On the matter of the Golden Globe Race then I’d completed my research before buying from you and have every confidence in you and your product.

I have experience using a monitor for a couple of transatlantics and am familiar with the benefits and limitations of windvane steering systems.
The service you have provided has been first class and I am very happy. 

This is a me leaving Ponta Delgarda in the Azores with your Pacific Light that has steered my boat Fettler (a Trintella 29) from Essex in the UK via Falmouth and A Coruna.  

We have had strong winds and light, heavy seas and near calms and the vane hasn’t put a foot wrong.  We are on our way home again now.  

Great product, great service.

TRIDENT WARRIOR 40 – SAILING FROM GREECE TO TAHITI
Good morning Peter,
Thank you for your prompt reply. Sorry for the delay with the pictures, I took some along time ago but obviously forgot to send! Here are some new ones showing the detail of the installation. I hope they assist other customers interested in installing a Windpilot. We have sailed about 13000NM since we fitted the unit, the windvane has probably operated for 90% of those. If you have any further questions or want any other details about installation on a Trident Warrior 40 please let me know.

10 JAHRE MIT EINER KOOPMANS VON FELTZ UNTERWEGS
Lieber Peter, jetzt sind es schon ratzfaz fast 10 Jahre geworden, in denen unsere Koopmans/ Feltz eine Pacific an Ihrem Heck trägt. Mittlerweile ist die Getriebeschutzkappe etwas von der Sonne in Mitleidenschaft genommen worden. Ich würde gerne 2 Stück als Ersatz bestellen.

Die Photos entstanden im Juli 2020 in Qaqortoq, Grönland auf unserer Covid- Alternativ- Route. Unsere Salmón ist vor 40 Jahren bei Feltz in Hamburg auf Kiel gelegt worden und ich habe sie vor über etwas über 10 Jahren als Refitprojekt (2500h) als Feltz/ Koopmans 38 gekauft.
Sie hat uns mehr als überzeugt, natürlich auch da individuell um- und ausgerüstet. Mindelo – Barbados hat sie unter Windpilot in 13 Tagen 20h geschafft. In 2 Jahren haben wir fast 20.000nm zurückgelegt. Jetzt muss sie leider mal an Land; ein Verkauf war mal angedacht, aber bekommt man so ein Schiff wieder? Ich denke nein.
Die Arbeit ruft, schön mal wieder Kontakt zu haben. Das letzte Mal hatte ich mit meinem leider verstorbenen Freund Michael Wnuk über Dich gesprochen, als wir die Welt verbessern wollten und uns darauf geeinigt haben, dass es in der Seglerwelt zunehmen mehr Schein als Sein gibt. Du bist mit klarer, ehrlicher Meinung und einem top Kundeservice klar auf der Seite, auf der wir hofften, uns dazuzählen zu können.
