SADLER 34 WITH SINGLEHANDER TONY FROM BRAZIL
Peter, Am in Jacere yacht village, Brazil. The locals are having a hard time with my English but are learning fast. The trip over was wing on wing all the way even into the Paraeboe river, 1800 miles 2 litres of fuel. The wind was 15 – 20 all the way but the sea was big 3M at one time so it was very rolly. The wind pilot played a staring roll working 16 days none stop dead down wind. Agreat bit of kit.

HORTA AB 15.06.2020 WIEDER OFFEN – OHNE QUARANTÄNE

Das ist die Information, die sogleich die Runde machte, womit unzählige Segler, die derzeit im Hafen von Horta ihren Anker geworfen haben, um sich von Land mit frischen Lebensmittel etc. versorgen zu lassen, dann endlich wieder selbst das Schiff verlassen können. Bislang galt die Regel, dass nur in Notfällen wie z.B. bei notwendigen Reparaturen, ein Schiff an einem Quarantäne Steg hat anlegen dürfen.

Rückwärts im Hafen eingeparkt – das Schiffsheck dicht am Steg angebunden – damit der Monteur bei der Arbeit nicht ins Wasser fliegt – eine Valium vielleicht, falls die Angst vor dem Bohren den Mann übermannt – sodann mutig den Bohrer angesetzt – gebohrt, bis das GFK am Heck zerfetzt – mit ein wenig Sika den Flansch sodann montiert, ausgerichtet, den Schreck verdaut – hier und dort ein paar Blöcke in Position verschraubt – damit das Ganze schön das Rad verdrehen kann – sodann hin- und her-bewegt … siehe da: im Hafen dreht´s. Was auf See passiert, ist eine andere Sache, die sich der Kontrolle des Skippers alsbald entzieht, weil seine Augendeckel dann zugefallen sind …
