OVNI 36 ÜBER DEN ATLANTIK HIN-UND-HER
Sehr geehrter Herr Förthmann, vor 4 Jahren habe ich die OVNI gekauft, die in den Bildern auf Ihrer Seite noch den Namen MoBoe trägt. Wir sind mit dem installierten Windpilot Pacific erfolgreich über den Atlantik und zurück gesegelt. Keine Probleme während der Fahrt, sie hat uns sicher in allen Windlagen gesteuert. Wenn das Schiff mal aus dem Ruder gelaufen ist, lag es am falschen Trimm und der Luvgierigkeit.
Auf dem Rückweg über Schottland hat die Windfahne wohl doch etwas zu viel Regen abbekommen und hat sich leider mit Wasser vollgesogen und verzogen. Sie wiegt nun 680g und ist gebogen und in sich verdreht. Mehrere Versuche, die Windfahne zu wässern und beim Trocknen mit Gewichten wieder gerade zu biegen sind gescheitert.
Ich bitte Sie daher um ein Angebot für eine neue
Windfahne. Ist diese dann bereits lackiert, oder steht das noch aus?

schickes Bild mit der Orange …, gibt es das bild in grösserer Auflösung? Das wäre für mich schickes Augenfutter …
Ich habe 550 Ovni ausgerüstet … deren Skipper sämtlich steuerfaul sind, was ich natürlich gut verstehen kann….
Die Windfahne sollte nur ein wenig leichter sein als das Gegengewicht, damit der Impuls korrekt übertraegt. Ob wellig oder rund … das Signel wird immer korrekt erzeugt … aber es gibt Segler, die bei ihren Schiffen mit Geräteträger ein anderes Format gewählt / gebaut haben: nur das Gewicht sollte stets schwerer sein, siehe oben:

Hi Peter, I just installed my Windpilot light. It was the winter inside of the cabin in shelter. The windblade does not move freely and squecks. See video. How to lubricate? Thanks for fast advice. My trip starts.
Hi Peter, Thank you for the rapid answer. I was hesitating between WD-40, oil and silicon. Silicon did it and the movement feels normal now 
Hi Peter, about ten years ago I bought a Windpilot from you, you delivered it to the States and I put it on using a dinghy while anchored in Long Island Sound. It was a complete game changer for me and I sailed thousands of miles singled handed, it never let me down.
Hi Peter. Your book is one of a class! It reads easily, gives information, it’s entertaining, and the narrative navigates many unpredictable sharps corners that takes it into the category of a thriller too.
Your retrospect about the boat expo could not be more descriptive , attending as a visitor only a few of them, sufficed me to stay away from many others and imaging what could be on the expositor side, and you survived two hundred plus!
I feel proud to own one of your masterpieces and notice my elevated status when other sailors ask me about it.
In them is shown a homemade accessory that I installed at the Pilot power bar to regulate the tension of the line length, replaces the shortening block provided with the advantage of not necessitating to remove the line from the eye ropes at both sides below the coamings at the end of the trip.
