SMALL POCKET CRUISER ON THE OCEANS – AROUND THE US
Good day Peter, Really like the gear after 1500 miles of sailing since I got it.  I have had the boat in Alaska, New England, the Pacific Northwest, a solo to Hawaii (2014 Singlehanded Transpacific Race), and up and down the California coast. The boat is a Capri 25 that has been extensively rebuilt and strengthened over the two decades I have owned her.
The name Jack comes from the name of my father’s lead dog, Jack the Giant Killer, while he was with the Second Byrd Expedition to the Antarctic. I had an Hasler fitted in earlier times, quite a big unit for my small seatoy. The Pacific Light has been fitted by use of a small turning device to accomodate the use of the AB engine easily.

Servus Peter, wir sind gerade auf dem Weg von Ischia nach Terracina, True Wind ca 5 knt unter Groß und Genacker. Der windige Gustav steuert das Boot excellent! Wir haben ein wenig Zeit gebraucht, bis wir ihn überzeugen konnten, nach unserem Willen zu segeln, aber jetzt verstehen wir uns prächtig. Besonders meine bessere Hälfte kommt als Skipperin hervorragend mit ihm zurecht.

Moin Peter, Grüße aus dem sonnigen Maupilha‘a, für uns geht es morgen weiter Richtung Beveridge Reef und dann Savusavu. Allerdings habe ich eine R-I-E-S-E-G-R-O-S-S-E BITTE: wir sind hier zu Gast in Maupilha’a bei Harry und Norma, liebenswerten Einheimischen, die uns mit ihrer Gastfreundschaft begeistert haben.
Leider ist hier seit 2 Jahren kein Copra Schiff mehr angekommen und somit sind die Vorräte nun langsam knapp geworden. Vielleicht würde es hilfreich sein, in deinem Blog andere Segler darauf aufmerksam zu machen, diesen Beiden ein wenig zu helfen? ATLANTIC CIRCLE ON JEANNEAU SUN ODYSSEY 43 DS
Dear Peter, After 2 years of cruising and crossing the Atlantic both ways, we are now back in our home country, Norway. Just wanted to let you know that we have been very happy with our Windpilot Pacific MF3. It has been our preferred choice for self-steering and gets our recommendation.

We are preparing to sell the boat, and got an inquiry from a person that wanted to buy the windpilot. 
Would you be able to provide me with the updated price, incl. delivery to Norway, for a similar windpilot? I was also wondering if you have any thoughts of the typical second hand value. It is still in perfect condition.

SMART IMPROVEMENTS ON CONTESSA 32
Good morning Peter, for your informationI have attached some images of a small modification I have made to your excellent Windpilot. I was finding the windvane adjustment with the thin red cord rather fiddly and did not make tacking an easy thing. I used to hang off the end of the boat and turn the worm spindle by hand.
So now with the help of a small continuous line dinghy furling drum and a reduction in the length of the worm spindle I can now use a long contiuous loop (no knots) of 6mm cord right up to the head of the tiller. Adjustment is super quick and tacking good too. A few good pulls takes the windvane though 100 dgrees. Job done! The stainless steel handle which I made a few years ago still sits on the end of the worm handle and gets used occaisionally.
I wonder if you could incorporate something similar on your models without too much effort? I guess it would involve a change to the casting to make it look less DIY which I appreciate is a big job. Just a thought.
