I just wanted to say i have tried the windvane quite a bit now and it works great! Holds its course in all winddirections and almost in all winds, steers straighter than an human being, perfect!

JONATHAN JUST ARRIVED IN PUERTO WILLIAMS – CHILE
Hi Peter, A few days ago we arrived in Puerto Williams from the Pacific. We had an uneventful crossing from Rapa Iti in the Austral Islands. Sure we had some weather but nothing extreme. The Windpilot steered all the way and as usual without any problems. Even a bit better then before for I had made a new pendulum rudder since the old wooden one had gotten very rough on the surface. So the new slick one performed even better.
Just heard of the Finish guy that needed to be rescued from the GGR. If your boat fills up with water so quickly you must have a major hole somewhere. Not just a hose coming of. Did the lower support of the Hydrovane rip out? The upper support looks pretty solid on the pictures but you can’t see any on the lower support. Would be interesting to know if the Hydrovane was still in upright positon when he had to step into the liferaft?
Some questions may arise:
Is the Watt&+Sea also mounted to the Hydrovane? To make matters worse?
How watertight were the watertight bulkheads then?
Guess Tapio must have seen if the Hydrovane had shifted?
But will you get honest answers since they al seem to cover their sponsers????

Denn offenbar verstehen sie ( die Orcas ) die Funktion eines Ruders und attackieren es gezielt. Haben sie Erfolg, animiert das womöglich andere Familienmitglieder, es ihnen gleichzutun.

3500 SM SIND VERMUTLICH ERST DER ANFANG
Moin Moin und Grüße nach Hamburg, seit Berlin im April hat Theia nun gut 3500sm über Polen, Schweden, Dänemark, Deutschland, Niederlande, Frankreich zurückgelegt und segelt nun in Richtung Valencia. Fast immer steuert uns die Windpilot, die wir gut ans funktionieren gebracht haben und die wir mit jeder Meile besser verstehen.

Das sind die Fragen, die einen Skipper plagen, die seine grauen Haar wachsen lassen, wenn er sich partout nicht erklären kann, warum wieso weshalb er plötzlich von einem Schiff überholt wird, dem er sich bislang überlegen gefühlt, dessen Skipper er eher lässig gleichwohl gnädig gegrüsst, wenn er ihm elegant vorbeigesegelt ist?
Donnerwetter, war das eben wirklich eine Najad 34?

24 YEARS OF USE ON NAJAD 320 AND BREEHORN 37
Dear mr. Förthmann, After more than twenty years of extensive use I would like to overhaul my Windpilot Pacific (version prior to 1998) and replace a number of “plastic” parts that show wear and tear. I would appreciate to receive a quotation for the parts on the photograph below as well as for the top cover (part 60 in the exploded view). For convenience I have added references (where clear) to the exploded view on the website.

09.11.2022. Gestern haben Heinz und Matthias eingekauft. Gut das es eine Sackkarre an Bord gibt, denn es waren viele Lebensmittel. Ausserdem wurde der Liegeplatz bezahlt und ausklariert. Dazu sind wir sind zu dritt mit Bootspapieren und Reisepässe zur Hafenpolizei gegangen. Der Polizist konnte nicht nur englisch, sondern war auch besonders freundlich. WEITERLESEN
